Arctic Charr Fishing Camp > Detailed Itinerary
This experience if perfect for the person who is looking for a slice of the simpler life and has a desire to slow down and experience a time when people sought sustenance from the land. During your stay we will set nets in Cabin Lake to catch arctic charr. Cabin Lake is stocked by the owners under a fish farming license. Once released as fingerlings, the arctic charr live their lives as natural fish, eating the minnows and freshwater shrimp which inhabit the lake. In between checking the nets we will process our catch, learn how to smoke fish, harvest cranberries, stoke the cabin fire, and go father afield to fish for pike or arctic grayling. Local hiking is available as well.

Day 0: WHITEHORSE, YUKON
Hopefully you enjoyed your travels and have arrived
safely in Whitehorse, the Yukon’s capital city, nestled among the
wilderness.
Please arrive in Whitehorse in time for an
orientation meeting at 8:30 pm the night before our departure. Guests
are responsible for accommodation and meals while in Whitehorse.
Whitehorse is a splendid little city and we recommend booking some
additional time at either the beginning or the end of your trip to see
Whitehorse. If you wish to fish on your trip but, have not had a
chance to purchase a Yukon fishing license, you should do so this evening. Your guides will let you know where they can be purchased. If you only wish to fish for charr in Cabin Lake, you do not need to purchase a fishing license.
Please Note: Often our guests choose to come to the Yukon several days early, or to depart several days after their wilderness vacation. Therefore we don't include accommodation in Whitehorse in order to provide flexibility for our guests. If you prefer, we can easily arrange your hotel accommodations in Whitehorse and add these details to your itinerary.
Day 1: Out to Cabin Lake (L, D)
Cabin Fever Adventures staff will pick you up from your hotels or from the airport depending on what arrangements have been made. Any final details will be dealt with and we will depart Whitehorse. We will travel southeast along the Alaska Highway until reaching the Yukon River. As we turn off the highway and begin a 12 km journey into the bush the trails gets wilder and bumpier as we go. The last 7 km is along a rugged road that is our wilderness driveway. At the end of this road is a little slice of heaven we call home. Our property on Cabin Lake is surrounded by wilderness. We have no neighbours and enjoy the privilege of living amongst nature. Over the next days ( variable ) we will fish, canoe, relax, eat, hike and stoke the fires in our little cabins.
Day 2 - Onwards: Fishing, Relaxing (B, L, D)
Final Day: To Whitehorse (B, L )
Depending on your travel plans, we will in the afternoon either deliver you to your hotel of choice in Whitehorse or to the airport.
